Vector Field based motion in a Virtual Environment
Abstract
This project is an investigation into vector fields as a reliable and simple
method for creating, regulating and bounding object motion within a three-
dimensional virtual world. Particular attention is paid to the simulation of
relatively large scale particle systems under the action of various wind effects
such as thermals. The project is implemented under the Rhodes University Computer Science Department's CoRgi Virtual Reality system, and is intended as a proof
of concept exercise.
