Modelling Cloth Dynamics and Collision Detection

Abstract

The purpose of my research project is to investigate and implement the modelling of cloth dynamics and movement animation, which contribute to the use of clothing and other cloth based objects in a virtual world. I have divided this project up into two parts: the cloth dynamics (which handles the way in which the cloth moves and responds to external forces like gravity) and collision detection and handling (which addresses the issues raised by the cloth coming into contact with itself and other objects, and how it will respond to that).
